The hardest part of launching a coaching practice isn't the certification, the website, or the niche. It's the gap between "I'm ready to coach" and "I have paying clients." Here's the fastest path through that gap.
Week 1: Tell everyone you know (directly)
Send 20 personal messages — not posts, messages — to people in your network who might be interested in your coaching topic or know someone who is. Briefly describe what you do and what transformation you offer. Ask if they'd like a free introductory session. You're not selling: you're offering.
Week 2: Deliver 3 free sessions and ask for feedback
Free sessions aren't charity — they're intelligence gathering and testimonial generation. Run 3 sessions with people from your network. Ask for honest feedback. Ask if you can quote them. These become the social proof that makes the next 5 clients possible.
Week 3: Set up your booking page and announce it
By week 3 you have testimonials, you've refined your process, and you know what clients need. Now set up your paid booking page and announce it on LinkedIn and Instagram. Link directly to the page — don't say "DM me." Make it easy to say yes.
Week 4: Follow up with everyone who engaged
Anyone who liked your post, commented, or messaged you is a warm lead. Follow up personally with each one: "Hey — noticed you engaged with my post. Happy to share more about what I do if it's relevant to where you are." Personal, not pushy.
Your first 5 clients almost always come from your existing network — not strangers on the internet. The platform comes after the relationships.
